Walking With Alex Foundation

Mission Statement

From the very beginning, the mission of the Walking With Alex Foundation has been guided by love, empathy, and the unwavering belief that every child—regardless of diagnosis, age, or circumstance—deserves the opportunity to thrive.

Founded by two mothers, advocates, and visionaries, the Foundation was born from lived experience and a shared determination to turn compassion into action. We have witnessed firsthand the life-changing impact that access to proper therapies, education, and community support can have on a child with autism, and the profound loss families face when those resources are out of reach.

Inspired by Nina’s son, Alex, whose strength and spirit continue to guide our purpose, the Foundation seeks to bridge inequities in autism care across communities in Armenia, Lebanon, and the United States. Our mission is to raise awareness, build sustainable programs, and expand access to quality therapeutic and educational resources for children with autism and their families.

By partnering with local and international professionals, healthcare institutions, and community leaders, we aim to create long-term solutions that promote inclusion, dignity, and opportunity for every child.

Beyond immediate support, the Foundation is committed to shaping a future where individuals with autism—especially those over the age of 18—can continue to grow, learn, and live fulfilling lives. Our long-term vision includes establishing a dedicated center that offers ongoing care, therapeutic programs, and meaningful daily activities designed to foster independence and belonging.

Walking With Alex is more than a foundation—it is a movement of love, inclusion, and hope. It stands for every child and family striving for a brighter tomorrow and embodies our promise to walk hand in hand toward a world where every child, everywhere, is given the chance to thrive.

Vision Statement

Our vision is a world where every child with autism, regardless of geography or circumstance, is seen, supported, and empowered to reach their fullest potential. We strive to create communities built on compassion, inclusion, and opportunity, where children and adults with autism can live with purpose, independence, and dignity.

Core Values

Compassion
At the heart of everything we do is compassion. We lead with empathy, understanding, and care—recognizing the unique strengths and challenges of every child and family we serve.

Inclusion
We believe that every child deserves to be seen, heard, and included. Our programs and partnerships are built on the principle that true progress begins when barriers are removed and opportunities are shared.

Integrity
Transparency, accountability, and ethical stewardship guide every decision we make. We are committed to earning the trust of our families, partners, and donors through honesty and professionalism.

Empowerment
We empower children and families to reach beyond limitations by providing access to life-changing therapies, education, and community support. Our goal is to nurture independence, confidence, and self-advocacy at every stage of life.

Collaboration
We know that lasting impact is achieved together. By uniting families, professionals, and global partners, we work collectively to expand access to care and create sustainable systems of support.

Hope
Above all, we believe in hope—the belief that progress is possible, that love can move mountains, and that every small step forward creates a brighter future for children with autism around the world.
