Walking With Alex Foundation

Meet Alex

Alex’s story is the heart and soul of the Walking With Alex Foundation.

When Alex was just two years old, he was diagnosed with autism. His symptoms were severe and apparent from a very young age. His early years were filled with challenges—doctor visits, neurologist appointments, and countless hours of therapy became his daily routine. While most children spent their days playing freely, Alex’s childhood was centered around treatments and therapies that aimed to help him connect with the world around him and learn to speak.

Despite the obstacles, Alex’s journey is one of resilience, love, and transformation. By the time he was five, his parents had explored nearly every available treatment for autism—some showing great promise, others less so. That same year, Alex discovered two things that would forever change his life: swimming and horseback riding. These activities became his passion and his therapy. The physical movement and sensory balance they provided helped him focus and thrive in ways nothing else had before.

Today, Alex is eleven years old. He continues to receive therapies and works hard every single day. Though he remains nonverbal, his happiness radiates through his every gesture. Alex communicates through his eyes, his hugs, and his laughter. He loves deeply—his siblings, his teachers, his friends, his grandparents, and every animal he meets. He swims daily, no matter the weather, and his love for hiking shows the strength of both his body and spirit.

Alex’s pure heart shines through his beautiful brown eyes. He is a reminder that joy, love, and resilience can exist even in the face of the hardest battles. Alex is not just special—he is extraordinary.

This foundation is dedicated to him and to every child like him. Walking With Alex is a reflection of his light, his strength, and his journey. Through this foundation, we hope to ensure that every child with autism has access to the same care, therapies, and opportunities that helped Alex grow and flourish.
